STRUCTURAL DIFFERANCIES IN THE PIANO WORKS OF CLASSICAL PERIOD AND EARLY ROMANTIC PERIOD

Abstract

While there is a transition period in the music world called the Classical Period and the Early Romance Period, the structural similarities of the Classical Period works and the Early Romance Period that provide a transition are quite remarkable both technically and melodically. The Classical Period, known as the period of simplicity and showing off from this simplicity, left its place to more emotional, nationalist and ethnic music after the French Revolution of 1789. In the first part of the study, the understanding of music was mentioned in the Classical Period, some of the works of famous composers were compared and the works were examined chronologically. In line with the assumption that there is a transition period from the Early Romantic composers, examples are given and the content of the works decided to be examined is mentioned. In the second part, as a result of the examinations made in the first part, common points and differencies covering these two periods were determined and comments on the data obtained were included.
