LEAN HEALTH APPROACH IN HOSPITAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM APPLICATIONS: IZMIR / TIRE STATE HOSPITAL SAMPLE

Abstract

Hospital management information system applications starting from 2003 and fully utilized in 2013 has provided the changes,advantages and amenities for health workers in all health institutions and health service demanders.One of them is lean health applications.Lean health applications; we can say it covers all the management and organization processes of health institutions ,minimizing any losses during the workflow, being time and cost-oriented and totally serve a purpose of good quality, satisfactory and uninterrupted service for patients. When the concept of "Customer Orientation" is interpreted in terms of health sector, it is more appropriate to be evaluated as "Healthy Individual Orientation".In substance,aximum patient satisfaction is targeted with away from wasting understanding. The purpose of this study is reduce the cost losses by focusing on the concept of lean health, looking for ways to do not waste and showing the presentation of made examples and even provided the announce to another health institutions….Izmir province was chosen as the universe of the research and Izmir/ Tire State Hospital was selected as a sample. In the meetings made by in-depth interview methods with the hospital authorities information about the subject was taken.
