Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to examine the positive or negative effects of the students who have individual instrument/professional instrument baglama (saz) to take part at the in-school and out-of-school activities on instrument education lesson. For this purpose, the survey questions prepared by the researchers and passed through the approval of three experts were presented to 10 lecturers who gave baglama training in Gaziantep university turkish music state conservatory and 50 students who had individual instrument baglama in the 2019-2020 academic year. The survey results were obtained through the SPSS software. The positive effects of in-school and out-of-school musical activities on instrument education are as follows; positively effected in instrument condition, improved ability to play together, contributed to the individual repertoire, improved memorization ability, contributed to attitude control, improved bona and solfege, provided the learning of different local attitudes, increased self-confidence and contributed to professional experience. The negative effects of in-school and out-of-school musical activities on instrument education are as follows; the problem of absenteeism, lack of time for homework of the lesson, negative impact of the local attitude, reflection to the student of the problems arising from the individual relations of the lecturers, impairment of the instrument grip, the problem of self-confidence, incompatibility in playing together, negatively affecting the interest in the lessons.
