Occupational health and safety is a global problem. More than 3.2 million people die each year due to work-related accidents and illnesses. In addition, every year 160 million new occupational diseases and 300 million non-fatal occupational accidents occur. In order to contribute to national economy and occupational health and safety studies and to provide data to the relevant departments of the ministries, it is very important to make statistics of workplace accidents and diseases in our region and to determine the distribution of diseases and accidents according to working age and other working parameters in occupational groups. In this context, descriptive statistics of occupational accidents and occupational diseases transferred to Van Regional Education Research Hospital in 2018 are given in this study. The fact that the results are data of our region will contribute to the results obtained from these data to prevent accidents, to contribute to the audits on this issue, to be informed about the emergency services personnel to be prepared for work accidents.
