The Eastern Black Sea countryside has unique characteristics due to its vegetation, topographic and cultural structure. The Surmene countryside located in the eastern Black Sea countryside also shows a scattered settlement due to its topographic structure. In addition to topography, the houses forming this scattered settlement create similarities or differences due to the parameters such as climate, landscape, sun, wind, material, construction technique. Within the scope of the study, the village of Sürmene Aksu and Gültepe where the unique examples of Eastern Black Sea rural architecture were examined.In the case of the two villages, the layout of the villages and the designated route was examined, verbal studies were carried out with the owners together with on-site investigations in possible housing samples and sketch studies were carried out in the plan plane and plan types were determined.The original situation-intervened situation discussions have been made through the present state of the housing samples. As a result of the studies, identity cards belonging to the villages, including other building types, were formed. As a result, in this study, it has been pointed out the unique examples of rural architecture by enabling the participation of users in the Aksu and Gültepe villages of Sürmene rural which are the subject of different studies. Directives have been made in order to protect the cultural and physical heritage of the region by determining whether there is an intervention by the users. As a result of this study, it is not only limited to the users but also with the support of the local administrators, it is aimed to reveal the new works and initiatives that are suitable for the demands and needs of the local people and that are compatible with the characteristics of the rural architecture.
