Sameh el-Kasem used famous symbols with using both historical and literary texts. when he was using religious symbols he preferred symbols from the texts of Koran, the Bible and Torah. While he was selecting historical symbols he used important historical figures in Arab history like Tarek bin Zeyad, Selahaddin Eyyubi. Also he symbolized natural figures, and used olive and palm trees as powerful symbols. In addition to this, he deftly used the symbols such as desert, sun and rain which are greatly used by classical Arabic, in his works while conveying the Palestinian resistance.
