AN EVALUATION OF KIRIKKALE PROVINCE IN TERMS OF ADVENTURE TOURISM BY SWOT ANALYSIS

Abstract

In recent years, it is seen that adventure tourism has an indispensable place in niche marketing of tourism. In terms of determining the potential of adventure tourism and revealing its advantages and disadvantages in terms of surrounding cities is very important to determine the potential of Kırıkkale in tourism. In this study, SWOT analysis was performed in terms of adventure tourism in Kırıkkale. In this study, the results of the 1st Kırıkkale Tourism Workshop in Kırıkkale in December 2018, Kırıkkale University’s tourism academicians and Kırıkkale Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, accommodation enterprises, provincial and government officials opinions were evaluated and the current situation analysis was made. More than 30,000 students of Kırıkkale University are members of potential adventure tourism, and the proximity to Ankara is an advantage in terms of transportation and weekend activities. Disadvantages such as the inadequacy of adventure tourism activities and the fact that the river area owned by the province is not suitable for all water sports has been determined.
