Depending on the changing and evolving governance in Turkey in the local government area of 5216 metropolitan conducted in 2012 in the municipality of law, "6360 No. Municipality in fourteen provinces and Twenty-Seven County Establishment and some Law and the Law Amending the Decree" important arrangements with change it is made. After Law No. 6360 established 14 new and 27 new metropolitan county metropolitan centers in Turkey and the municipal district in the center of the city was formed. Following the formation of the central districts, the population of other metropolitan district municipalities other than the metropolitan central districts has been experienced and continued to be experienced due to the migration to the central districts each year. In this study, after the law no. 6360, it will be informed about the population changes in the metropolitan municipalities and the problems arising from the concentration of the population in a certain center. In this context; the municipality of Malatya, which is a metropolitan municipality, was taken as a sample. As a method in the study; The literature review, local and national press, literary and visual resources and observation and descriptive method were used, and the regulations introduced by law no. 6360, the socio-economic characteristics of Malatya province and the population increase in the central districts of Malatya and In the district municipalities, statistical information about the population change between 2010 and 2017 was given and interpretation, evaluation and suggestions were made for population changes before and after Law No. 6360.
