The increase in the use of natural resources negatively affects the current and future living conditions. Many factors damage the environment and natural resources, resulting in deterioration of ecological balance. The construction sector is one of the most important factors that cause ecological balance to deteriorate by excessive use of natural resources. For this reason, the concept of sustainability has influenced the construction sector and new concepts have emerged in the sector. These concepts are; environmentally friendly buildings, green buildings, and BREEAM and LEED certification that enable sustainability to be measured in buildings. Within the scope of this study, examples of LEED certificate system which is the most preferred certificate system in our country are examined and evaluated.
