Abstract

Kosovo is geographically located between Southeast European mountain chain of Balkan Peninsula. As a result of the Slavic migrations in the region, first Bulgarians and then Serbians have attained power. The ruling power has weakened in Serbia in progress of time and Kosovo has come under the domination of Ottoman State after the First Kosovo War made between Lazar Hrebeljanovic and Ottoman Sultan I. Murad in June 28, 1839. The permanent settlement of Turks has begun with the settlement of Ottoman traders and officials to the towns in Kosovo during this period. It is known that the demographical structure of Kosovo has changes for this reason. In this study, the domination on Kosovo by Ottoman State and Turkish presence in Kosovo have mentioned as the research subject.
