GEOGRAPHICAL AND CULTURAL POTENTIAL OF KAZAKHSTAN

Abstract

Kazakhstan is a country that has many different ethnic elements. The main ones are the Koreans, Azerbaijanis, Chechens, Ahiska Turks, Greeks, Bashkirs, Chuvash, Kazakhs, Turkmen, Balkars, Karakalpaks and Altaylılar. Within these communities, all but the Russians, Belarussians, Ukrainians, Germans and Koreans are Turkish communities. Apart from these, there are a few non-Turkish ethnic elements. Most of the Turkish communities are Muslim, while other ethnic elements are generally Christian or Eastern religions.
