Carpet and kilim, one of our weaving arts, are among our cultural assets that have survived to the present day. Carpet and kilim weaving art, as in other arts, first emerged as a result of human needs and later became an art. Over time, there has been an enrichment in the patterns and compositions of carpet and kilim weaving, and the mass production of societies on the same pattern has caused this branch of art to become a craft. The art of weaving is an art that can be learned from the elders of mankind in line with the master-apprentice relationship. There are pillows, cushions, quarters, soles and rugs woven in different techniques in the village of Kilav of Nigde Bor district. In the village, it is possible to see Taşpınar and Arısama weaving samples as well as weaving samples with pattern and color compositions of the Niğde region. Carpet and kilim weaving, which used to be an important source of livelihood in the village and were indispensable parts of dowry, lost its importance after two thousand years. It is aimed to share the information obtained by classifying the weaving samples obtained by field research in the village according to the general condition, raw material and usage areas, supported by the visuals of carpet and rug weaving.
