Abstract


THE EFFECTS OF GESTALT VİSUAL PERCEPTİON THEORY İN LOGOTYPE DESİGN

The subject of this study is the study of the effects of Gestalt principles in logotype design. For this purpose, perception in Gestalt visual perception theory, perceptual organization laws and the relation of logotype, one of the graphic design products, are discussed in terms of design principles and design elements. Descriptive method was used in the research. The universe of the research was formed by the determination of the effects of gestalt visual perception theory in logotype design. Examples of the research include the determination of the effects of gestalt visual perception theory on logotype designs. The effects of the perceptual organization laws of Gestalt theory such as Figure-Ground relation, similarity, proximity, symmetry and completion principles on the perception of designs in the sample design applications in the logotype design areas are examined. It has been determined that the principles of Gestalt theory, which constitute the law of perceptual organization, positively affect perception in logotype design.
