Abstract


AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP AND INDIVIDUAL CREATIVITY: MEDIATING ROLE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL MEANINGFULNESS

Creativity is one of the fundamental requirements for organizational existence and success in today's business world where change andinnovation-centered competition play a decisive role. Creativity is considered as a function of individual and contextual factors. In this study, the concepts of authentic leadership and psychological meaningfulnessare discussed, which are thought to have an effect on individual creativity. This study aims to reveal the mediating effect of psychological meaningfulness in the relationship between authentic leadership and individual creativity. The data were collected by questionnaire technique. The survey was conducted face-to-face with 400 full-time employees working in manufacturing firms. As a result of the analysis, it was found that authentic leadership has a significant and positive effect on psychological meaningfulness and individual creativity. In addition, the results show that psychological meaningfulness does not mediate the relationship between authentic leadership and individual creativity.
