In Turkey, faculty of arts and sciences whose main purpose is to educate scientists, researchers and experts in the field and faculty of education whose main purpose is to educate teachers have various ways of training teachers. The problems faced by the faculty of arts and sciences have caused these institutions to seek solutions by focusing on teacher training process, and the fact that training teachers who are experts in their subject areas can be achieved by faculty of arts and sciences as well is said to be the justification. Based on this assumption, the content of compulsory courses in the department of secondary school mathematics education and the content of compulsory courses in the department of mathematics was compared in this study in terms of the scope. A qualitative research method, more specifically case study, was used in the study. In order to compare the content of courses, document analysis were utilized. Also, questionnaire and semi structured interviews were utilized to take domain expert opinions. The results indicated that the content of courses in these two facilities did not yield immense differences.
