Abstract


TEACHER WIEVS ON THE WAY AND LEVEL OF USE OF INFORMAL COMMUNICATION IN SCHOOLS

The purpose of this study is to determine how frequently and for what reason the teachers who work in the secondary schools are using informal communication and besides, the results of the positive and negative results of the informal communication according to the teachers. The study is carried out using the survey model. The sample of the research consists of 304 teachers selected from 20 schools by simple random sampling method. The "Informal Communication Scale" developed by Dogan (2017) was used in the research. As a result of the study, it is determined that, according to the perception of the secondary school teachers, the frequency of using informal communication, reasons for utilizing informal communication, positive results of informal communication and negative results are also medium level. In addition, it was determined that reasons for using informal communication are low level. There was no statistically significant difference according to the gender and union membership status according to the teachers' opinions according to the frequency of using informal communication, level of informal communication, reasons for utilizing informal communication, positive results of informal communication and negative results. According to the seniority variable, it was found that the level of formation of informal communication and the reason of using informal communication are significant differences in the sub dimensions. Suggestions based on research findings were made.
