Abstract


VOCATIONAL TRAINING VIEWPOINTS OF STUDENTS IN VOCATIONAL COLLEGES (Gaziantep University Case)

Increasing globalisation with knowledge and improving industrialization increase the need for qualified manpower. However, this causes problems related to training of individuals equipped with necessary vocational skills and knowledge with applications and politics leading improvement in this field, the demands of the related fields have not been met effectively. Especially in our society, since the importance and neccesity of vocational and technical education are not valued to the desired level, it fall short to meet the need of qualified manpower. In order to understand real value of vocational and technical education and to meet the need for qualified manpower in industry and service sectors, the opinions of the student attending these schools related to vocational education are very important because their attitude effect their behaviours. For this reason the aim of this study of these attitude. Descriptive survey method is used. The population of the study consist of Technical and Social Science schools in Gaziantep University. Data ara collected using “Attitude Towards Vocational Educaiton” scale formed by Kalkan (2014) is used. For the analysis of the data, t-test, one-way Anova, Scheffe tests are used. According to findings of the study statistically significant difference are found between opinions and in dependent variables.
